Troove™ Privacy Policy

Nureva privacy policies, trademarks and terms of service

Last updated: January 20, 2015

This Privacy Policy is designed to tell you about our practices regarding collection, use, and disclosure of information that you may provide to Nureva Inc. (“Nureva”), which operates the Nureva™ Troove™ Service. Please be sure to read this entire Privacy Policy before using or submitting information with Nureva. This Privacy Policy applies to you if you are using our software, including our mobile applications, or if you’re visiting our websites at www.nureva.com/troove-digital-portfolio and troove.nureva.com and all linked pages owned and operated by Nureva (together, the “Nureva Troove Service”). If you have questions about Nureva’s policies and practices, please direct them to Nureva at the contact information provided in this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and forms an integral part of the Nureva Troove Terms of Service (see www.nureva.com/troove-digital-portfolio/terms-of-service). Capitalized terms that appear in this Policy may be defined in the Terms of Service and if so, such terms have the respective meanings given to them in the Terms of Service when used in this Privacy Policy. In addition to reviewing this Privacy Policy, you should also read the Nureva Troove Terms of Service. Your use of the Nureva Troove Service constitutes your agreement to the terms and conditions in this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service. Whenever you access or use the Nureva Troove Service or submit information via this website or through our mobile applications, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of that information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Your Personal Information and other information regarding your use of the Nureva Troove Service will ordinarily be stored and processed in Canada except (i) in emergency data recovery situations in which case it may be transferred to the U.S., and processed and stored there under U.S. privacy standards, (ii) where applicable law in the jurisdiction where you are located requires otherwise, and (iii) where a written agreement between the Account-Holder and Nureva expressly requires such data to be stored and processed elsewhere. By using the Nureva Troove Service and providing information to us, you consent to such transfer to, and processing in, Canada, the United States, or the jurisdiction stipulated by applicable law or written agreement, as the case may be. While in Canada, the U.S. or the jurisdiction stipulated by law or written agreement, your Personal Information may be accessible to law enforcement and national security authorities of that jurisdiction.

What is Personal Information?

Personal Information is information about an identifiable individual and includes information that specifically identifies an individual (such as a name, address, telephone number, email address, or other account number), and information about that individual’s activities when directly linked to that person, such as information about his or her use of the Nureva Troove Service. Personal Information also includes demographic information, such as date of birth, gender, geographic location and preferences when such information is linked to other personal information that identifies you. Personal Information does not include “aggregate” information. Aggregate information is data we collect about a group or category of products, services or users, from which individual user identities have been removed. In other words, information about how you use a service may be collected and combined with information about how others use the same service. Aggregate data helps us understand trends and our users’ needs so that we can better consider new features or otherwise tailor the Nureva Troove Service.

Parental Consent

If you are under 18 years of age, you may only use the Nureva Troove Service and disclose information to us with your parent’s or guardian’s consent. Through the Nureva Troove Service, we collect and store Personal Information from a child under 18 years of age based on the representation to us from the Account Holder that the student’s school district, school, or teacher has obtained parental consent for that child to use the Nureva Troove Service and disclose Personal Information to us for use with the Nureva Troove Service. If you are a child under 18, please do not send any Personal Information to us or use the Nureva Troove Service if such parental consent has not been provided. In addition, please do not send any Personal Information that is not necessary to disclose in order to participate in the Nureva Troove Service. If you are under 18 years of age, please carefully review this Privacy Policy with your parent or guardian and make sure you and they understand it.

If Nureva is notified that Personal Information from a child under age 18 has been provided without parental consent being obtained by the Student’s school district, school, or teacher, or if we are notified that a student under 18 years of age has provided Personal Information beyond what we request, we will delete that information from the active database of the Nureva Troove Service as quickly as is reasonably possible. However, we will retain and use your or your child’s information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements and such information may remain in our backup and archive systems indefinitely.

If you believe that Nureva might have any information from or about a child under 18 years of age without parental consent, please contact Nureva at support@nureva.com.

Some of this information may be automatically collected through the use of “cookies” which are discussed in more detail below. We also collect various types of “clickstream” information, which is information about your browsing behavior, such as entry and exit points for the Nureva Troove Service, search terms, website addresses you visit, page views, and impressions. If you are under 13, we treat this information as Personal Information, whether or not it is combined with any other identifying information. Notwithstanding the above, we do not ask you for, access or track any geographic-location-based information from your mobile device at any time while downloading or using our mobile applications.

Cookies are small text files placed on your storage device by a website when you visit. These files identify your computer and record your preferences and other data about your visit so that when you return to the Nureva Troove Service, the network recognizes you and can personalize your visit. In general, we use cookies to collect information so that we can complete transactions you have requested and improve and personalize the Nureva Troove Service experience by seeing which areas and features are most important or interesting to you. Most browsers automatically accept cookies as the default setting. You can modify the setting to reject cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the sites you visit by editing browser options. If you decide not to accept our cookies, you will still be able to access those parts of the Nureva Troove Service available to the general public but you may not be able to use some of the network’s features or services, and you may have a less satisfactory experience.

Finally, if you make any purchases through the Nureva Troove Service, billing and credit card information may be required. All such credit card transactions are fully encrypted and your billing and credit card information is collected and stored by us or a trusted third party. Any third party credit card vendor will be prohibited from using this information for any purpose other than storing the credit card information to complete payment.

We may use Personal Information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in this Privacy Policy. Consequently, we encourage you to refer to this Privacy Policy from time to time to stay abreast of our most current privacy policy practices. We will attempt to notify registered users of any material changes in the Privacy Policy by posting a notice on our website homepage and login page. It is your responsibility to check for updates to the Privacy Policy and any such update shall be effective even if you do not receive notice of such update. If you do not consent to the updated Privacy Policy, you can discontinue use of the Nureva Troove Service. Your continued access and use of the Nureva Troove Service will constitute your acceptance of any changes or revisions to our Privacy Policy.
