SMART Technologies founders form new tech company focused on education and business markets
CALGARY, Alberta --- October 6, 2014 --- Nancy Knowlton and David Martin, founders and long-time CEO and chair, respectively, of SMART Technologies, have launched a new technology company called Nureva Inc. After 25 years building SMART, Knowlton and Martin left their management roles in early 2012 and took an 18-month break to survey both emerging technology trends and the market for unmet and evolving needs. Nureva, a private company, is focused on making a difference with technology through a powerful mix of passion, perspective and customer commitment. It plans to introduce its first products for education and business in the first half of 2015.
“The team we’ve assembled at Nureva has a deep understanding of and commitment to the needs of education and business customers,” said Knowlton. “We relish the chance to continue developing innovative products that transform the work of learners and thinkers.”
Nureva Inc. is an early-stage company founded in 2014 by education technology veterans David Martin and Nancy Knowlton. They have assembled an experienced team that is passionate about delivering delightful experiences through technology products that address needs in both education and business markets.
