When things run smoothly, we hardly notice them. We take it for granted that we can get what we want when we want it. One hiccup, though, and we know something is wrong.
It seems like we’ve all experienced supply issues during the pandemic. We’ve seen shortages or no availability for some of the strangest small things. Some big items, like cars and trucks, have been also in short supply, something that many of us have never experienced.
Responding to pandemic supply challenges
At Nureva, we had some of the same supply challenges at the height of the pandemic. Parts shortages and COVID illness of assembly workers delayed production. Ports were congested, and unloading was delayed. Rail cars and trucks couldn’t be booked as normal. Costs skyrocketed. We considered ourselves lucky when things ran according to plan.
We know that supply disruptions run through the chain from the tiniest of parts suppliers all the way through to end users. When everything is geared to just-in-time delivery, everyone’s plans get disrupted. Projects are delayed. Work can’t be completed. Payments aren’t made. Customers are frustrated.
Our operations team has worked tirelessly over the past two years, making and remaking plans, creating contingencies and adapting to the unpredictable world of global supply chains. While we will never declare that our issues are fully resolved – the pandemic has taught us that a new problem can emerge at any time – we are in a much better place today.
In stock and ready to ship
Happily, we have a lot of product on the shelf at our logistics centers. Perhaps more important, there’s a lot on the way, already on the water from our contract manufacturers. Lined up behind those shipments is a steady stream of units to be produced and delivered according to a schedule.
This includes our full selection of innovative audio systems for meeting rooms and classrooms, including the HDL200 for small spaces, the HDL300 for mid-size spaces and the Dual HDL300 for large spaces. Also in stock and ready to ship is our latest addition – Nureva® XT, an integrated solution for classrooms.
We made some very large commitments to long-lead-time components early, ahead of actual orders and forecasts from both our reseller channel and customers. We made the commitment to continue to actively promote our product alongside our channel, trusting that the orders would follow.
And, they have. Product availability is giving our channel the confidence that they can fulfill their customer orders in a timely fashion, without months-long delays.
After being in a holding pattern for months if not years, business and education are eager to get back to a more normal mode of operating. And that normal mode means providing quality experiences for remote meeting and class participants. Beyond the design characteristics and functionality of the product, customer expectations include timely delivery. We stand ready to deliver on that front as well.
