What is the Buy Canadian policy?

Canada’s federal government recently announced that new measures will be introduced to ensure Canadian suppliers and their products are prioritized in all federal spending. This is a move from an approach of “best effort” to a clear obligation to support Canadian industries. Details are expected in the federal budget, scheduled for November 4, 2025.

Where can I learn about current Buy Canadian policies?

Public Services and Procurement Canada’s guidelines for prioritizing Canadian suppliers are available here.

Are Crown corporations subject to Buy Canadian policies?

The new guidelines are expected to require Crown corporations to align with federal procurement directives, including Buy Canadian provisions, especially when using public funds or participating in federally funded initiatives.

Yes. Nureva is 100% Canadian owned and AVSA approved, making our systems fully compliant.

Which audio conferencing brands are approved for Canadian government use?

Who are the founders of Nureva?

Nureva was founded in Canada by David Martin and Nancy Knowlton. They also created SMART Technologies and introduced the SMART Board®, the world’s first and most popular interactive whiteboard. Both are recipients of Canada’s Meritorious Service Medal for their exceptional contributions to improving educational opportunities for young people. Among many other honors, Knowlton is a recipient of the King Charles III Coronation Medal and Martin is an Officer of the Order of the British Empire.

What is Microphone Mist technology?

Microphone Mist technology is at the heart of all our systems. It fills a room with thousands of virtual microphones (individual pickup points created when two or more physical mics focus their pickup on a distinct location) to deliver exceptional mic pickup throughout a space. It also enables continuous autocalibration, position-based gain control, rapid conversation tracking and more. Microphone Mist technology has been awarded multiple patents from the US and EU patent and trademark offices.
