Teaching lab and D:DREAM Hall outfitted with visual collaboration solution

Calgary, Alberta --- January 29, 2018 --- Nureva Inc., an award-winning collaboration-solutions company, announces the implementation of its Nureva™ Wall and Span™ visual collaboration software in a new Teaching Lab at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands. TU Delft is one of the top technology institutes in Europe, and the Teaching Lab is part of its renewed focus on teaching and learning. The lab acts as a hub for professors to explore new teaching techniques and experiment with technology that promotes active learning. The university installed both a 20' 2" (6.15 m) wide Nureva Wall and a 10' 2" (3.10 m) wide Nureva Wall, which have created two large-scale digital workspaces where professors can add, share and interact with ideas and information on Span software’s expansive digital canvas. The Nureva visual collaboration solution fits naturally with the way TU Delft students and professors already work and will enhance their collaboration activities by bringing existing analog practices into the digital world.

The university is also using the Nureva Wall in a pilot project based in its D:DREAM Hall, a design building where students work together on projects for international competitions. TU Delft teams have been highly successful and recognized for their strong teamwork. Over the next three months, the solar car team, which has won the world solar car racing title seven times, will be among several student teams using the Nureva visual collaboration solution to explore how it can make their work more productive and their innovations even more successful. Paper flip charts and sticky notes are now widely used in collaborative activities, but aren’t entirely effective when working with large amounts of information. Span software will make that information digital so it can be easily worked on and shared any time.

“Through this pilot study, we are closely observing how professors and students are using the Nureva solution to better understand how it can be deployed throughout the campus,” said Dr. Piet van der Zanden, TU Delft’s Education Expert AV-IT in Learning Spaces. “I see at least 20 to 30 locations where the Nureva visual collaboration solution can be used, and we need to look into what the best configurations are for each space.”

“After we visited the TU Delft campus and saw how student teams collaborate, it was clear that our visual collaboration solution was a natural fit,” said Nancy Knowlton, Nureva’s CEO. “We’re pleased to see how the professors are seeing its potential to enhance student learning and how it can help these future scientists and engineers develop the collaboration skills they need to solve complex problems.”

About Nureva visual collaboration solution

The Nureva visual collaboration solution combines Span visual collaboration software with the Nureva Wall. It is designed to support highly collaborative activities that benefit from visualizing and interacting with information on a large surface, including structured processes such as agile, lean and design thinking. Span software provides an expansive cloud-based digital canvas that can be tailored to suit virtually any collaborative activity. The software draws upon familiar, simple and flexible tools including sticky notes, sketches, images, templates and screen sharing. Participants contribute and interact with the content using their personal devices, whether a computer, tablet or smartphone, or directly on the Nureva Wall or interactive display. The Nureva Wall transforms collaborative spaces by creating large, ultrawide interactive surfaces that turn walls into expansive digital workspaces with high performance multitouch and inking capabilities. The Wall is optimized for use with Span visual collaboration software and can be used with existing applications such as Microsoft® Office, Adobe® products and AutoCAD®.
