The challenge

Legacy audio wasn’t built for your learning spaces

Higher education AV/IT teams are managing more complexity than ever — HyFlex classrooms, lecture halls that double as hybrid conference rooms, multipurpose spaces that change every day and a growing mandate to support students with hearing challenges. Traditional audio systems were not designed for this.

The result is predictable: Instructors needing handheld mics (which inevitably go missing). IT teams fielding support tickets after every room reconfiguration. Students at the back struggling to hear those at the front. And remote students missing half the conversation.

“The HDX product is perfect for the evolving needs of our customers. They want performance and simplicity, which the HDX delivers.”

— Frank Sturzebecher, General Manager, MAIKS Datenverarbeitungs GmbH

Why HDX for higher education

Designed for the realities of today’s classrooms, lecture halls and meeting rooms

HDX is built to solve the most common higher ed audio challenges. And it does it without adding complexity for your AV/IT team or requiring instructors to change how they teach.

How? Instead of relying on manual programming, it has intelligence built directly into the system, making it adaptable and easier to scale across multiple spaces.

It’s a modular solution with three core components. You get two or four audio bars that combine speakers and mics. An optional microphone pod strengthens coverage and provides voice lift. And a system hub connects your AV devices and handles the processing.

Together, these components deliver consistent audio performance across classrooms, lecture halls, meeting rooms and multipurpose learning spaces — while keeping maintenance to a minimum.

Traditional audio The HDX difference
Remote students miss key details or class discussions and feel left behind. Microphone Mist technology captures all voices so remote students don’t miss anything.
Instructors rely on handheld mics, and IT manages charging, storage and replacements. Adaptive Voice Lift subtly boosts voices so everyone can hear without straining.
Assistive listening requires extra hardware and manual setup when requested. Built-in Auracast broadcast audio lets students connect instantly on their own devices.
Room changes require reprogramming and manual recalibration. Automatic calibration adapts audio to layout changes — no reprogramming required.
Buying and configuring (and reconfiguring) DSPs means costs escalate over time. Built-in processing eliminates DSP costs and helps reduce total cost of ownership.
Camera tracking and switching is hard to automate and a hassle to manage. HDX generates 3D sound location data that works with cameras to provide the best view.

“Nureva HDX impressively demonstrates that smart audio technology is much more than just voice transmission. The combination of high-quality audio capture and easy scalability makes HDX a compelling solution for modern collaboration and meeting concepts.”
